The South Orange Daily Voice reported recently that New York State Police are investigating a wreck in which a young man was killed in Sullivan County in the early morning hours of Saturday, November 21.
The incident took place around 6:15 a.m. EST on Saturday, Nov. 21st, along County Route 56 in Mountain Dale, New York, a hamlet in Sullivan County, NW of New York City. According to officials with the New York State Police, a Mountain Dale man, 21 years of age, was killed in a single-vehicle accident when he lost control of his 2011 Dodge Avenger.

The initial investigation indicated that the young man lost control of his vehicle for unknown reasons still under investigation while speeding over the crest of a hill. He crossed both lanes of traffic on his way down the hill and exited the roadway on the left shoulder, hurtling down until his vehicle became lodged between two large trees, which is where troopers located him when they arrived on-scene. The young man was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. There were no passengers in his vehicle.
The young man was in the process of earning his G.E.D. and was employed at Boar’s Head.
