They determined that she was the only occupant of the vehicle and was ejected from the vehicle when the rollover took place. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Her identity has not been released pending notification to her family or next-of-kin.
The crash remains under an active investigation by the Westchester Police Department’s Accident Investigation and Reconstruction Team. Any eyewitnesses or individuals with relevant information are asked to contact the Westchester County Police at (914) 864-7701. They issued the following advisory to motorists: “While not all crashes are survivable, statistics show that properly wearing your seat belt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. New York state law requires that every person in a vehicle, regardless of seating position, always remain buckled up. Not wearing a seat belt remains the leading cause of death in motor vehicle crashes.”
