WIBX 950 AM reported recently that a tragic motor vehicle accident along Crumb Hill Road in Georgetown, New York caused the death of a Cortland woman in the early morning of Thursday, April 29, 2021.
According to a news release issued by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place between 1:00 a.m. and 1:10 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Thursday, April 29, 2021 along Crumb Hill Road in Georgetown. A woman from Cortland, 31 years of age, was westbound on Crumb Hill along with her passenger, a woman from Cuyler, NY 29 years of age. She collided with a tractor-trailer, forcefully enough that both occupants of the car had to be extricated from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse. The accident remains under an active investigation.

The Day reported that a man hid in a swamp after fleeing the scene of a crash along Interstate 395 on the morning of Thursday, April 29, 2021, eventually being located by a police K9 during a search of the area.
According to Troop E of the Connecticut State Police, a Norwich man, 34 years of age, was involved in a car accident around 12:25 a.m. on Thursday morning that blocked both lanes of the highway. He then fled, hiding in a swamp nearby. He was taken into custody on multiple charges.
