The New York Post reported on a car accident in Brooklyn which left an elderly woman in critical condition Monday.
The incident occurred around 6 a.m. Monday when the elderly woman was trying to cross DeKalb Avenue in the Clinton Hill neighborhood, according to spokespeople from the New York City Police Department. A 21-year-old driver of a Citi Bike van was traveling south on Clinton Avenue before he turned onto DeKalb Avenue and struck the woman 72 years of age.
Police officials stated that EMS crews rushed the woman to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where she was in critical condition.

Police were not certain at the time of press whether the woman or the van driver had the light signaling right-of-way. The driver remained at the scene of the accident and was cooperative with responding police. No charges have been brought as of yet, but the investigation is ongoing.
