NBC Channel 4 News New York reported recently that a woman was arrested on several felony charges on Saturday, May 29, 2021 for her role in a fatal motor vehicle accident that took place in Hempstead, a town in the Long Island region of New York.
According to officials with the Nassau County Police Department, the incident occurred in Hempstead, a town on Long Island east of New York City, between 4:25 a.m. and 4:35 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on the morning of Saturday, May 31, 2021. A woman 27 years of age was allegedly driving a Toyota Corolla sedan while under the influence of intoxicants when she crashed into two cars parked on the side of a Long Island street. She had three passengers in the vehicle with her; all four were hospitalized for various injuries.

A man from Massapequa, 29 years of age, was inside one of the parked vehicles at the time of the crash and sustained injuries described as serious by responders. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead around an hour after arrival. The Corolla’s driver was charged with DWI, manslaughter, assault, and reckless endangerment.
