The Washington Heights – Inwood, NY Patch reported recently that a tragic motor vehicle accident along Broadway in Washington Heights, New York on the morning of Monday, May 3, 2021 left two men in critical condition.
According to a news release issued by officials from the New York City Police Department, the incident took place between 6:15 a.m. and 6:20 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Monday, May 3, 2021 at the intersection of West 162 and Broadway in Washington Heights, New York. Police arrived at the accident scene to find a man 26 years of age and another unidentified man, both with injuries to the head and body, unresponsive and unconscious in the roadway. Both men were medically transported to New York City Health + Hospitals / Harlem and both remain in critical condition.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the 26-year-old man was riding a bicycle south on Broadway when he collided with the other man, who was riding a Suzuki motorcycle east on West 162nd Street. They have not yet determined who was at fault for the accident, and the investigation is active and ongoing, being conducted by the Collision Investigation Squad of the New York City Police Department.
There is no word on if either or both individuals is expected to recover.
