CDLLife.com reported on a tragically fatal accident last Thursday afternoon in which a New York City bicyclist passed away after a collision with a semi-truck.
The accident took place on Thursday, November 6 at approximately 1:45 p.m. in the Bronx, specifically in the Mott Haven neighborhood. According to reporting from the New York Daily News, a homeless man 22 years of age was proceeding west on his bicycle along Bruckner Boulevard when he approached a traffic signal that had turned red. He proceeded through the signal without properly yielding, overtaking a truck that had been traveling south on Brown Place through the intersection.
First responders transported the man to a local hospital for treatment, but he sadly succumbed to his injuries. The truck driver was uninjured and cooperated with investigators in the aftermath.

Also on Thursday, a tractor-trailer rolled over in Johnson City, NY, according to WICZ Fox Channel 40 News, snarling traffic in the area but fortunately not resulting in any injuries. Officials with the Johnson City Police Department stated the truck was hauling garbage eastbound along Route 17 and was attempting to exit at Exit 71 (Airport Road) when it rolled over. No injuries were reported and the accident is still under investigation. Johnson City Police were assisted by New York State Police, Johnson City Fire Department, and the Broome County Sheriff’s Office.
