WIBX 950 AM reported recently that a tragic motor vehicle accident along Congers Road in New City, New York caused the death of a Clarkstown North High School and injuries to several other people on the evening of Thursday, May 6, 2021.
According to a news release issued by the Clarkstown Police Department, the incident took place between 10:50 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Thursday, May 6, 2021 along Congers Road in New City, a town in Rockland County, New York. A young man, 18 years of age, was driving a black Mitsubishi Lancer with two passengers, a girl 17 years of age and a boy 16 years of age. The boy had allegedly been drinking when he crashed the vehicle in a three-car accident.

According to the Rockland Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES), the 16-year-old boy and 17-year-old girl were both students at Clarkstown North High School. The boy passed away from his injuries Friday afternoon while the girl is hospitalized in stable condition. The driver, who was allegedly intoxicated, was charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, aggravated vehicular assault, second-degree manslaughter, two counts of assault, vehicular manslaughter, driving while intoxicated and reckless driving.
