The New York Daily Voice reported recently that five Scarsdale-area teens remain hospitalized with various injuries following what was characterized as a serious single-vehicle car accident in Scarsdale earlier in the week, on Monday, January 11.
According to officials from the Scarsdale Police Department, the single-vehicle accident took place between 6:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on the evening of Monday, January 11, when an Elmsford teen 17 years of age, with four other teens in the car as passengers, was driving on Brewster Road and struck a tree alongside the roadway. The passengers were two men 19 years of age and 18 years of age from Elmsford, a Scarsdale person 18 years of age, and a White Plains woman 17 years of age.

Scarsdale Police and Scarsdale Fire personnel arrived at the crash scene to find two of the occupants had been ejected from the vehicle, while the other three had to be pulled from the wreckage by fire crews. All five were treated on-scene by members of the Scarsdale, Eastchester, Harrison, and Larchmont Volunteer Ambulance Corps and transported to Westchester Medical Center for treatment.
The accident remains under investigation by the Scarsdale Police Department and the Westchester Police Accident Investigation Unit. The identity and current medical conditions of the teens have not been released to the media.
