The New York Post reported on a tragic Queens accident that turned deadly when a 72-year-old man was struck and killed by a minivan early Friday morning.
The incident occurred around 4:45 a.m. where Horace Harding Expressway meets Main Street in Kew Gardens Hills. An elderly man was attempting to cross Horace Harding Expressway against the light when he was hit by a 2008 Toyota Sienna, according to reports released by the New York City Police Department.
EMS crews transported the man by ambulance to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries sometime after arrival at the hospital. The driver of the Toyota Sienna stayed at the scene and was reportedly cooperative with authorities.
The minivan driver has not yet been arrested or charged, and it is unclear whether there will be charges filed as the New York City Police Department investigation is still underway.
