Chautauqua County EMS, New York State Police, and the Randolph and East Randolph Fire Departments responded to the accident. A pickup truck reportedly was headed westbound on Interstate 86 when it left the roadway for an undetermined reason and rolled over. The driver, a Randolph resident, was not wearing a seat belt when the accident occurred and was taken by medevac helicopter to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Both accidents underscore the importance of driving safely and maintaining awareness even in lower-traffic areas, as a single-vehicle accident has just as much potential for tragedy.
