Beckers Hospital Review reported recently on a tragic incident in which a Glens Falls nurse was struck by a snowplow in the parking lot of Glens Falls Hospital on the evening of Tuesday, January 26.

According to officials with the Glens Falls Police Department, the incident took place between 4:55 p.m. and 5:05 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 in the parking lot of Glens Falls Hospital, a healthcare facility in upstate New York. A nurse employed at the facility, 33 years of age, was walking past the back of the hospital near the loading docks and unknowingly walked behind a vehicle plowing the parking lot as it was backing up. She was struck by the vehicle. When Glen Falls Police units arrived, medics were providing first aid but she succumbed to the injuries she sustained in the incident shortly thereafter.
Glens Falls Hospital officials made the following statement: “Our hearts and prayers go out to her family, friends and colleagues. The accident is still under investigation at this time, so no other details are available.”
Glens Falls Police stated the accident is currently being investigated. No details about charges filed or other information has been released at this time.
