North Patchogue Accident Injures Motorcyclist
Patch.com reported that a Long Island motorcyclist was seriously injured in a North Patchogue vehicle accident Saturday evening, with two others hurt in the same accident.
The motorcycle operator was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle northbound on North Ocean Avenue in North Patchogue in Saturday evening around 7:30 p.m., according to Suffolk Police Department spokespeople, when the accident occurred. A 24-year-old Patchogue man was driving his 2010 Acura south on North Ocean Avenue and attempted to make a left turn onto Shaber Road eastbound. He collided with the motorcycle.
The rider of the motorcycle was transported by ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital with severe injuries. The car’s driver, and his 23-year-old passenger, were both transported by ambulance to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The car’s driver was issued a ticket as he was found to be driving without a license at the time of the accident. Both the motorcycle and the car were impounded for safety checks as part of the ongoing investigation.
