Cement trucks are among the heaviest of heavy work trucks. These vehicles are designed to be able to transport loads of wet concrete to job sites. A fully loaded cement mixer can weigh as much as 70 tons and cause significant damage in an accident.
CDL Life reports that on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 15, 2021, a motorist collided with a commercial cement mixer in Schenectady. The crash left wet cement all over the smaller vehicle and the roadway.
Authorities in upstate New York told reporters that the accident happened near the intersection of Erie Boulevard and Seneca Street at approximately 1:30 p.m.
Investigators say that the blue hatchback sedan pulled out in front of the cement mixer. The heavy truck that was fully loaded with wet cement crashed into the driver’s side door. The impact caused wet cement to flow from the truck’s chute and onto the car.
