The Hudson Valley Post reported that a Mahopac woman aged fifty-six years and an off-duty veteran law enforcement officer who was fifty years of age were killed Sunday in a motor vehicle accident in Yorktown, according to representatives from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash occurred last Sunday, October 25. While exact details of the accident have not been released, it was confirmed that the deputy was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident while the woman involved was taken to a local hospital where she died of her injuries.

According to information released by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, the victim began his career with the New York City Department of Probation in 1997 as a probation officer. In 1998, he went on to become a police officer with the New York City Police Department. In September 2003, he left the NYPD and joined Hastings-On-Hudson Police Department where he remained until his retirement in 2019. Once he retired from Hastings-On-Hudson, he joined the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department and was assigned to the Special Patrol Division.
“The members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department join his family in grief.May he Rest In Peace and may his memory be a blessing,” stated the Putnam County Sheriff in a statement released about the accident.
