Syracuse.com reported recently that a motor vehicle accident in Oswego County late last Thursday morning caused injuries to three people and spilled sixty gallons of diesel fuel onto the roadway.
According to officials from the New York State Police, the accident occurred between 11:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) along NY State Route 104 in the town of Mexico, New York. A man from the town of Mexico, 23 years of age, was driving east along NY SR 104 in a Chevy pickup truck when for unknown reasons still under investigation, he veered into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into a 2006 Kenworth tractor-trailer that was westbound on the roadway.

The pickup truck driver was transported by ambulance to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse with injuries stated to not be life-threatening, as was a woman 21 years of age who was a passenger in his truck . The driver of the tractor-trailer, a man 67 years of age from Cato, was treated at Upstate University Hospital for a shoulder injury.
The accident remains under an active investigation. There is no word on whether charges have been filed in the incident and no further information has been released.
