MyTwinTiers.com powered by WETM Channel 18 NBC News reported recently that an Elmira man is dead following a shooting and car crash that occurred in Lansing, New York early in the morning of Saturday, March 13, 2021.
According to information provided by representatives of the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office (NYPD, a call of shots fired was reported between 1:45 a.m. and 1:50 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Saturday, January 25, 2021 near the 600 block of Ridge Road in the town of Lansing, NY. Shortly thereafter, deputies were called to the 500 block of Auburn Road in Lansing on reports of two vehicles driving off the roadway with multiple injuries. The preliminary investigation showed that the occupants of the two vehicles were also involved in the earlier gunfire incident.

Investigators believe that the two vehicles left the first location and traveled north at high speed, the occupants exchanging gunfire. Both vehicles lost control on Auburn Road, one striking a telephone pole and the other careening into a residential yard. One person was killed, another seriously injured, and two more had minor injuries. One of the five people in the two cars escaped without injury.
