FOX News reported recently that a massive nursing home fire raged in the town of Spring Valley, NY in the early morning of Tuesday, March 23, 2021, with at least one person dead and more injured, including at least two of the more than one hundred volunteer firefighters from 23 departments who responded to the gigantic conflagration.

According to officials from the Rockland County Fire Department and other local emergency services officials, the fire began at the Evergreen Court Home for Adults on Lafayette Street in Spring Valley, NY, about forty miles north of Manhattan at some point prior to 1:30 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) in the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 23, 2021.At least one resident of the facility was killed in the fire, and two firefighters were medically transported to local hospitals for emergency treatment of injuries sustained combating the colossal blaze, one from smoke inhalation and one that suffered a heart attack. At least one more firefighter, from the Spring Valley Fire Department, is missing following the conflagration.
23 of the 27 volunteer fire departments in Rockland County responded to the massive fire scene at the facility, which housed 133 senior citizens. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
