ABC Channel 7 News reported recently that a Long Island teen has been sentenced to eight years in prison after being found guilty of manslaughter for his role in a car accident that took place on Long Island in February 2019.
The original incident took place between 11:45 p.m. and 11:55 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Saturday, February 19, 2019, along Route 25 near Birchwood Park Drive in Middle Island, Suffolk County, New York. A 17-year-old teen, driving a stolen Nissan Rogue, led police on a chase around Long Island after failing to stop for a routine traffic stop.in Yaphank.

The Rogue crashed into a Honda CRV on Route 25 as the CRV was trying to make a left turn onto Birchwood Park Drive. The collision killed both passengers in the SUV, a man 72 years of age and a woman 71 years of age, both pronounced dead at the scene, as did the brother of the suspect, who was a passenger in the car.
He was recently found guilty of charges including manslaughter, felony assault, and unlawfully fleeing police, and was sentenced on Thursday, March 25, 2021 to eight years in prison for the incident.
