The Yorktown-Somers NY Patch reported recently that a man from Yorktown, NY has been accused of causing a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, and now faces felony charges for his alleged role in this tragic motor vehicle incident that led to the death of a Yorktown Heights pedestrian.
According to information provided by representatives of the Yorktown Police Department, the incident took place between 6:55 p.m. and 7:05 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Wednesday, March 10,, 2021 along NY State Route 6 between Sunnyside Street and Barger Street. Officers responding to a call regarding a person lying in the roadway found a man from Yorktown Heights, 40 years of age, in the roadway, with the car that hit him having left the scene of the accident.

The investigation into the accident was conducted by the Yorktown Police Department Accident Investigation Unit, with the assistance of the Westchester County Department of Public Safety Accident Investigation Unit. A man from Yorktown, 45 years of age, was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, a felony, after investigators ran his license plate and located the vehicle. He will face court on March 16.
