WIVB Channel 4 News reported recently on a motor vehicle accident in the town of Hamburg, NY on Sunday, January 17 that caused several to be injured, although onlookers reacted quickly to rescue the affected parties from the tragic accident.
According to the Town of Hamburg Police Department, the incident happened between 12 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 17 along NY State Route 391 near the 18 Mile Creek Golf Course when two vehicles collided almost directly head-on, causing one vehicle to roll over from the force of the impact. When the Town of Hamburg Police arrived, town citizens were rendering aid to the occupants of the two vehicles, including pulling the driver of one vehicle from the wreckage of his car after the engine compartment became fully aflame.

Responding officers stated that several parties were medically transported to local hospitals and the driver responsible for the accident was issued a summons. No updates have been provided on the medical condition of the victims and the accident remains under an active investigation by local authorities at the present time.
Responding agencies included the Hamburg Volunteer Fire Department, North Boston Volunteer Fire Company and AMR Western New York.
