The Suffolk Times reported that a motorcycle accident in East Marion left a local motorcyclist injured on Friday.
According to local police, the accident occurred near the intersection of Stars Road and Route 25 in East Marion. A 2019 Subaru was waiting to turn left at the intersection, with a second vehicle stopped behind it. A motorcyclist on a Honda motorcycle veered around the two vehicles on the shoulder, but a third vehicle veered out in front of the motorcycle, forcing the motorcycle to attempt to avoid it. The motorcycle collided with the Subaru, throwing the rider from the bike.
The rider suffered injuries to his right leg, and while he refused transportation by a medical aviation unit, he was taken by ground transport to Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
In another incident on Friday, a 43-year-old man from Herkimer was killed after a head-on collision in New Berlin, according to Binghamtonhomepage.com.

The collision on Route 8 in Chenango County occurred around 2:45 p.m., when a vehicle driven by a 31-year-old woman crossed the center line on a curve and collided with the victim’s vehicle. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was taken to a Utica hospital for treatment and the investigation is currently active.
