WHEC Channel 10 News reported Monday on a fatal head-on collision in Chili, New York, a town near Rochester, that claimed the life of a Caledonia man.
According to Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies, the incident took place around 5:15 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Scottsville-Chili road and Old Scottsville-Chili road. A southbound vehicle was struck by a northbound vehicle in a head-on collision near the intersection. A 68-year-old man driving the southbound vehicle was killed by the collision; the driver of the northbound vehicle was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, where he is listed as in guarded condition.
While no charges have been as yet filed in the accident, the investigation is in progress and shut down Scottsville-Chili road between Route 252 and Old Scottsville-Chili road for several hours on Monday before reopening around 11:00 p.m. that night.

The New Haven Daily Voice reported on a Waterbury man who was killed in an accident on Waterbury Road Saturday night in a single-vehicle accident being investigated by Troop I of the New York State Police. The man drifted across the northbound lane of Waterbury Road around 10:00 on Saturday evening in a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe, crashing into a brick business display and then a utility pole. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
