New York City Police claim that the police vehicle was using lights and sirens as it went through the intersection, but the driver’s family claims that the sirens were not on and that the officer was disregarding safety rules, saying the motorcyclist had no way to know the police vehicle was coming. The family met with New York State Attorney General Leticia James’ office and afterward spoke to the public outside the 90th Precinct in Williamsburg.
According to the family and their attorney, they want the officer fired and tried for murder, and they are looking forward to an independent investigation by the New York State Attorney General.
