The Greenburgh Daily Voice reported on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, that New York State Police troopers have arrested an alleged drunk driver in connection to a crash that happened on Saturday.
According to a statement released by the New York State Police, the agency received a call regarding a hit-and-run crash at approximately 10:35 a.m. on Saturday, June 26. 2021. State troopers arrived at the scene to find a pedestrian had been struck and was lying on the shoulder of the Interstate highway.

The 30-year-old male victim had pulled his 2010 Toyota Camry onto the road’s shoulder to switch places with his passenger. As he got out of his vehicle, the victim was struck by a 2008 Ford F-350 pickup truck bearing Ohio license plates. The driver did not stop at the scene of the crash.
The passenger in the Camry was uninjured in the crash and called 911.
The victim was rushed by ambulance to the Westchester Medical Center. He is still currently listed in critical condition.
State Police troopers found debris from the pickup truck at the scene of the crash. The parts that were specific to the truck’s make and model helped investigators locate the hit-and-run driver. The driver has been identified as Eustaquio Vasquez Dominguez of Plain City Ohio.

While being questioned, State Police troopers determined that Dominguez had been intoxicated at the time of the crash. Dominguez refused a breathalyzer test. A court order issued by the Westchester County Court allowed investigators to obtain a blood sample from him.
Dominguez was arrested and charged with DUI, leaving the scene of a crash resulting in serious injury, as well as the felony charge of vehicular assault.
