According to officials from the New York City Police Department, the four-year-old child and his father were waiting for the traffic signal to change at the intersection of Ocean Avenue and Parkside Avenue in Prospect Lefferts Gardens between 10:20 p.m. and 10:40 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) when the little boy ran ahead out into the street and was struck by a Toyota RAV4 compact sport-utility vehicle driven by a local man sixty years of age.
