According to officials from the Washingtonville Police Department, the accident happened on Wednesday, October 21, between 8:15 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., in the Orange County community of Washingtonville, around 50 miles north to northwest of Manhattan Island. A tree service commercial truck crossed the center line of State Route 207 and impacted a school bus belonging to Washingtonville Central School District that had been headed eastbound on the roadway.
In addition to the driver, several Little Britain Elementary School students that were passengers on the bus, as well as the truck driver, sustained injuries, most seriously a 6-year-old girl that was released from the hospital later that month.
