A Long Island accident reported on by Newsday.com left a 44-year-old Central Islip resident in critical condition Sunday night.
The incident occurred around 9:00 p.m. Sunday. The victim was crossing Suffolk Avenue on foot just east of Carleton Avenue, headed south, when he was hit by a 2016 Honda CR-V. He was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore and remains in critical condition, although Suffolk County Police have not released details on his injuries. The driver of the Honda was uninjured and police have impounded the vehicle as they investigate the accident.

NTD.com reported on a collision Sunday between a car and a horse-and-buggy in the Finger Lakes region of New York that left seven people injured, including multiple members of a Mennonite family that was riding in the buggy.
The Yale County Sheriff’s Office stated that around 5 pm, a car was attempting to pass another car near the town of Jerusalem, 50 miles southeast of Rochester, when it struck the horse and buggy. The buggy was knocked off the road and smashed, ejecting all seven occupants from the buggy. Two adults reportedly suffered head injuries, while a 7-year-old boy was reportedly in critical condition with multiple internal injuries and an infant also reportedly suffered from internal injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was unhurt. Charges have not been filed yet as the accident remains under investigation.
