With many businesses just reopening or still being closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, many more people are relying on Amazon for their deliveries. The increase in online orders from the retail giant sent the company on a hiring spree. It is looking to fill 75,000 jobs. These new positions came in addition to the 100,000 new employees the company hired in March.
Amazon relies on trucking and delivery drivers as well as UPS to fulfill its deliveries. While some of these drivers are employed by Amazon, the company does pay other trucking companies as well as freelance delivery drivers to make their deliveries. When these drivers cause an accident, the victims may be able to seek restitution from either Amazon, the trucking company, or the insurance of the delivery driver.
