A Father And Son Were Injured In A Rollover Accident

Rollover crashes are some of the most dangerous crashes that can occur. While some are caused by an initial collision with another vehicle, the vast majority of rollover crashes involve only a single vehicle. According to the NHTSA, 85% of all rollover fatalities involve only one vehicle. While only 3% of all crashes are rollover crashes, rollovers account for nearly 35% of all crash fatalities. Large vehicles like trucks, SUVs, and vans are more likely to experience a rollover than smaller vehicles like sedans due to the vehicle’s raised center of gravity. In addition, the majority of fatalities and serious injures that occur due to rollover crashes are to people who are not wearing a seatbelt.

CBS 6 Albany reports that a father and son were taken to hospitals after a rollover accident.

The incident occurred in the Washington County area of the Town of Fort Ann.

Washington County Sheriff’s deputies responded to report that at Clay Hill Road a motor vehicle got into an accident that caused serious injury.

According to the accident report, 56-year-old Joseph Fusco, Sr. was driving the vehicle. His son was a passenger in the front passenger seat of the vehicle. For reasons unknown, Fusco lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll over.

Fusco sustained injuries that required he be airlifted to Albany Medical Center by helicopter. His son was transported by ambulance to Glens Falls Hospital by ambulance. His injuries were not life-threatening.

The crash is still under investigation.
