The Putnam Daily Voice reported recently that a man from New Windsor, New York was killed in a motor vehicle accident involving a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle that took place on the evening of Friday, March 26, 2021.
According to officials from the New Windsor Police Department, the incident took place between 10:35 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Friday, March 26, 2019, along Temple Hill Road in New Windsor. A head-on collision took place between a 2019 Subaru passenger vehicle and a 2021 Volvo tractor-trailer, according to the New Windsor Chief Of Police.

The 2021 Volvo truck, driven by a Berlin man 27 years of age, was headed northbound on Temple Hill Road, towing a gasoline tanker trailer that was full of gasoline fuel. A 2019 Subaru, driven by a New Windsor man 58 years of age, was headed south on Temple Hill when, for unknown reasons still under investigation, it crossed the centerline of the roadway and struck the tractor-trailer head-on. The Subaru driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while the truck driver was medically transported to Montefiore St Luke‘s Hospital in Newburgh by New Windsor EMS personnel for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
