Troopers arrived to find Yorktown Emergency Medical Services personnel performing lifesaving measures on the operator of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist, a Queens man 32 years of age, was transported by Yorktown EMS to the New York-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital in the New York City borough of Queens, where he was pronounced dead of injuries sustained in the accident.
The initial investigation demonstrated a likelihood that the victim was traveling south at a high rate of speed on his 2009 Yamaha motorcycle when he sideswiped a 2007 BMW M5 as it changed lanes. The cause of death was ruled accidental in nature, although the accident investigation by the Troop K Collision Reconstruction Unit remains ongoing.
