The Yorktown-Somers Patch reported recently that a man from South Salem was killed in a motor vehicle accident involving a car and a motorcycle on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 in Yorktown, a New York City suburb about 38 miles north of Manhattan.
According to officials with the Yorktown Police Department, the incident took place between 7:35 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 along NY State Route 202 in Yorktown, New York. A South Salem man, 24 years of age, was riding a 2019 Harley-Davidson motorcycle south along NY 202 when he collided with a 2019 Honda Pilot SUV driven by a Yorktown Heights man 34 years of age as he attempted to turn on to NY 202 from Yorkhill Road.

The motorcyclist was medically transported by Ambulance to Westchester County Medical Center where he succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the incident. The accident scene was cleared by around 12:15 p.m. The accident is being investigated by the Town of Yorktown Police Department Accident Investigation Unit, with the assistance of the Westchester County Department of Public Safety Accident Investigation Unit.
