Hudson Valley 360 reported recently that a Catskill man has been charged with driving under the influence (DUI) in the village of Saugerties after an accident that took place on Tuesday, November 17.
According to officials from the Saugerties Police Department, a Catskill man, 31 years of age, was charged with DWI. aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, and speed unreasonable and prudent. He refused to submit to sobriety and toxicology tests, and his New York driver’s license was suspended for prior offenses.

The accident took place around 9 p.m. on November 17 near 104 Malden Turnpike, according to Saugerties Police, who received a report of an accident with possible injuries. Upon arrival, they found a one-car accident, and the Catskill man had been able to extricate himself from the vehicle on his own.
Officers determined the man was intoxicated and he admitted to first responders that he had consumed alcohol that evening.
The man was treated at the scene for minor injuries by EMS responders and transported to Kingston Hospital by Diaz Ambulance service. He is scheduled for an appearance on December 2 in Saugerties Town Court, according to statements made by officials from Saugerties Police Dept.
