Dispatch Publicist 24 reported on a deadly collision between a school bus and a truck last Wednesday in New York state that injured three people, including a child.
The accident occurred on Wednesday, October 21, around 8:30 a.m., in New Windsor, located in Orange County, approximately sixty miles north of New York City along the western bank of the Hudson River. According to New Windsor Police officials, a school bus belonging to the Washingtonville Central School District and carrying students bound for Little Britain Elementary School rear-ended a truck that belonged to a local arborist service. Eight students were aboard the school bus at the time of the accident.

Three people were reportedly injured, two seriously, including a child who was rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital in the nearby city of Newburgh in critical condition. The other children were also taken to St. Luke’s Hospital for observation and evaluation per standard procedure for the area. Parents were informed as soon as reasonably able as emergency services crews flocked to the scene to assist.
According to representatives of the New Windsor Police Department, the investigation into the accident is currently in progress and further details will be released as available.
