Patch.com reported on a fiery Hampton Bays car wreck Friday night that left at least three injured.
Southampton Town Police units responded around 7:30 p.m. Friday night to a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Dune Road and Road K, to find one vehicle on fire and a driver trapped in the second vehicle. Investigators learned that a 20-year-old Hampton Bays man was driving a 2020 Mercedes Benz at high speed when he impacted a second vehicle, a 2018 Mercedes Benz driven by an 81-year-old Boca Raton, FL woman. The first car had a passenger who was twenty, the second vehicle had a 20-year-old passenger as well.

The Hampton Bays Fire Department responded and was able to rescue the second vehicle’s driver from the wreckage, The driver of the second vehicle had “very serious” injuries; both drivers were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital via medical helicopter provided by the Suffolk County Police Department’s aviation unit. The first driver was charged with reckless driving and second-degree assault.
