Patch.com reports on a two-vehicle crash last Thursday afternoon in the Nassau County town of Oyster Bay that injured the driver of a government vehicle belonging to the Town of Oyster Bay.
The Hicksville Volunteer Fire Department was called out around 2:00 p.m. Thursday to the scene of an accident near South Oyster Bay Road and Field Court. A slate gray Jeep collided with a white vehicle belonging to the Town Of Oyster Bay, which sent it careening through a brick wall and into a fence, narrowly missing the gas line into a home.
The driver of the Oyster Bay vehicle was hospitalized, while the driver of the Jeep was arrested for driving while intoxicated. No further information has been released on the incident.

The Olean Times Herald reports on a different, unrelated incident. A 25-year-old Arcade man was arrested Thursday in connection with a two-vehicle accident that occurred over a year ago, on July 21, 2019, in Yorkshire. The New York State Police reports he has been charged with vehicular manslaughter, operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs, and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level of .08 or greater. The original accident claimed the life of one person and hospitalized a second individual.
