New York State Police News reported recently that a motor vehicle accident in the town of Lisle, New York on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 led to severe damage to a home as a dump truck crashed into a mobile home.
According to a news release issued by the New York State Police, the incident occurred between 8:20 a.m. and 8:25 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Wednesday, February 10, near the town of Lisle, at the intersection of New York State Route 79 and Caldwell Hill Road. Units from the New York State Police barracks at Binghamton as well as units from the New York State Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit. A dump truck crashed into a single-wide residential mobile home for unknown reasons still under investigation, but believed to be related to the severe ice and snow conditions prevalent in the area currently. The driver reported pain in both his arm and his neck after the impact, which caused severe damage to the residence, although no report was made as to the level of damage to the dump truck.
Responders used the occasion to remind the public of the importance of driving with adequate care for prevailing weather conditions and slowing down when roads are icy or slick.
