Dirt Bike Accident Upstate Claims Life Of Rider

Both NNY360 and Oswego County Today report that a wreck in Constantia, a small town on Oneida Lake northeast of Syracuse, had fatal results in a tragic accident on Monday.

The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office released a statement that a fatal accident had occurred around 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Sheriff’s deputies and other first responders arrived at the scene of a two-vehicle accident between a truck and a dirt bike that left the dirt bike rider dead. The preliminary investigation indicates that a 2016 Dodge pickup truck, towing a boat and trailer, was headed west on State Route 49 when a Honda dirt bike emerged from a private driveway, attempting to cross the road, and collided with the pickup.

They pronounced the operator of the dirt bike was pronounced dead while the pickup driver was uninjured. The crash is still under investigation, and further details including the identity of involved parties, whether the dirt bike rider was wearing proper protection and safety equipment for dirt bikes, and any information on fault or toxicology results  have not been released at the present time.

Responding units included the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office, the New York State Police, the Constantia Volunteer Fire Department, and North Shore Ambulance.
