Spectrum News reported recently that an accident near Rochester had deadly consequences last Tuesday when a car crashed into a local building and caught fire, killing its occupant.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, October 27 in Cuylerville, a town in upstate New York, along Route 20A. A car was attempting to negotiate a curve when, for unknown reasons still under investigation, it veered off the roadway and impacted a commercial structure. The impact started a fire that took several local fire departments all morning to bring under control.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, although officials did not specify if his death was the result of impact trauma or the fire.

“We know the cause of the fire is the vehicle into the building,” said the Livingston County sheriff in a statement to the press. “Beyond that, what caused it to ignite, we have to look at. Did the vehicle cause it, or something in the building that caught fire? Those are the things we’ll be working with fire coordinators on.”
The investigation continues, and the name of the driver or any other information has yet to be released. Anyone with information is asked to contact local authorities investigating the incident.
