The Times-Union reported that a motorcyclist died in the town of Colonie after a horrific accident Sunday morning.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Central Avenue and Old Karner Road in the suburban enclave near Albany, according to the Colonie Police Department. A motorcyclist riding along Central Avenue around 11:00 a.m. on Sunday morning struck a 2011 Honda Accord sedan that was in the median, going in the opposite direction. Colonie Police spokespeople stated that it was not immediately apparent whether the Honda was attempting to make a left turn, whether speed was a contributing factor in the accident, or other factors relating to the collision.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident due to the injuries sustained as a result of the impact, while the driver of the Honda was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital to be treated for their injuries. Colonie Police Department asks eyewitnesses to the crash to contact their traffic safety unit at (518) 783-2744.
A two-vehicle accident in Whitehall killed a driver on Saturday in an incident that may have been caused by previously existing medical conditions, according to WNYT 13 News. The Saturday wreck occurred at the intersection of State Route 4 and County Route 21, and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
