Patch reported recently that two aerial accidents at Long Island businesses each claimed the life of a worker just hours apart on Monday, January 18.
According to local law enforcement and response organizations, two separate incidents occurred on Long Island on Monday, January 18, 2021, a day that many are not working due to the celebration of Martin Luther King Day. The first incident happened between 10:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Monday at a home on Bluebird Lane, where a landscaper for Rodney’s Landscaping was trimming a tree. While he had secured himself to a limb of the tree, the limb broke, sending the worker plummeting forty feet to their death.
The worker, 51 years of age, was medically transported to Huntington Hospital, where he was declared dead of the injuries sustained in the fall.
