While road motorcycles can provide an exhilarating thrill for anyone, dirt bikes or off-road motorcycles present a specific thrill for daredevils. Over 70% of non-fatal accidents occur to riders who are 16 years of age and younger. As such, the American Academy of Pediatrics does not recommend off-road motorcycles for children under 16 years of age, for they do not possess the necessary skills to operate the vehicles safely.
