Patch reported recently that a man from Lindenhurst was taken into custody after a motor vehicle accident in which he hit three other cars last Wednesday.
According to officials from the Suffolk County Police Department, a local man, 27 years of age, was taken into custody last Wednesday, December 9, for an incident in which he hit three other cars. The man was driving a 2012 Volkswagen east on Montauk Highway near Snedecor Avenue between 7:15 a.m. and 7:25 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) when he struck a 2019 Honda Accord, a 2008 VW Golf, and a 2013 Chrysler. He then fled the scene of the accident.
The man was later located and apprehended. He was arrested on three counts of leaving the scene of an accident with property damage.

The New York Daily News reported last week that a boy 12 years of age and his sister, 7 years of age, are OK after swiping the family car from their Queens home and bolting for Florida. The pint-sized pair stole a Range Rover around 9:00 a.m. Monday from their home in the South Ozone Park area and managed to make it across the Verrazano Bridge and Belt Parkway without incident before being stopped at the NJ / Delaware border.
