Channel 12 Long Island News reported recently that a three-car motor vehicle accident injured four people, two of them seriously, in the Long Island community of Mineola early on the morning of Sunday, April 4, 2021.
According to officials with the Nassau County Police Department, the incident took place between 2:55 a.m. and 3:05 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Sunday, April 4, 2021 along the Jericho Turnpike near its intersection with Willis Avenue in Mineola. The investigation indicated a Lexus sedan was being driven eastbound on Jericho Turnpike by a man 27 years of age when, for unknown reasons still under investigation, it crashed into a Chevrolet sport-utility vehicle driven by a man 38 years of age, which forced it into a collision with a Jeep SUV driven by a woman 26 years of age. The Lexus then continued down the road, crashing into a fence and two businesses along the roadway before eventually coming to a stop.

The Lexus driver and his passenger, a woman 28 years of age, were medically transported to local hospitals with serious injuries, while two others were hospitalized with minor injuries. The incident closed Jericho Turnpike between Sagamore Avenue and Willis Avenue, as well as Willis Avenue adjacent to the turnpike, while police units investigated the accident.
