NBC Channel 4 New York City News reports on an accident involving a fire truck, an ambulance, and a civilian Honda that left one dead and eleven injured after a crash in Brooklyn.
The incident occurred around 1:45 a.m. on Thursday morning near the intersection of Myrtle Avenue and Throop in New York City. An ambulance was transporting a 59-year-old heart patient and a woman accompanying him to a hospital when a Fire Department of New York fire truck was westbound on Myrtle, en route to an emergency call about a fire at a fifth-floor apartment nearby in an eight-story building. The fire truck hit the ambulance on the rear axle of the driver’s side, knocking the ambulance into a Honda CRV occupied by two adults that was stopped at the traffic light on Myrtle Avenue.
