News 12 The Bronx reported recently that a motor vehicle accident on Long Island ended in a car flipping over and landing in three feet of water off the Jericho Turnpike on Monday, April 10, 2021.
According to officials with the Nassau County Police Department and spokespeople from the Nassau County Emergency Service Unit, responders were called to an accident scene along the Jericho Turnpike at the intersection with North Marginal Road in which a car managed to flip on its side and land in several feet of water at the bottom of a 75-foot sump. The driver, a man 52 years of age, was trapped in the car as water entered and began to fill it.
The accident shut down the westbound service road of the Long Island Expressway, but it was reopened after completion of investigative and cleanup tasks.

Rochester First reported recently that a pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle near the Steuben County Landfill in Bath, NY on Friday, April 9, 2021.
According to the New York State Police, a truck driver was moving his vehicle in reverse and fatally struck the victim as he secured the tailgate of a rollback dumpster. The investigation is currently ongoing and no charges have been filed.
