A Test Drive Gone Wrong Left Two People Injured In Garden City, New York

The test-drive can be the fun part of purchasing a new vehicle. After reading reviews and watching YouTube videos about their chosen car, many people head to a dealership to get behind the wheel before making their decision. However, who is responsible for an accident during a trial run can differ from state to state.

It all will depend on whose insurance is considered primary during the test drive as determined by state laws. In some instances, the insurance will be the dealership’s insurance company. In other states, the driver’s insurance would have to cover the damages.

While few accidents take place during test drives, there are no databases of exact numbers for this type of incident.

The Drive reports that a brand-new Toyota Supra was crashed into a tree during a test drive.

The accident occurred last week on a section of Cathedral Avenue in Garden City, New York.

At around noon on June 9th, two individuals took the Supra for a test drive. Shortly after leaving the dealership, the driver lost control while traveling northbound. He struck a tree. Parts of the vehicle flew, landing more than 100 feet away from the crash.

It is unclear whether the two individuals worked for the dealership. The manager said that the two people inside the vehicle were “fine.”

However, the Garden City Fire Department reported that one of the people in the vehicle had to be extricated and suffered from serious leg injuries.

Local citizens commented on a Facebook post about the accident, stating that the road’s infrastructure is in poor condition.
