NJ.com reports that a man from West New York has been charged in a fatal Bergen County crash.
26-year-old Jose Francisco-Garcia was driving a 2017 Honda Civic at about 1:30 A.M. on Thursday morning. He had a passenger in his vehicle, 40-year-old Jose Santos when he crashed into a utility pole in front of 1 Broad Avenue. The accident occurred near the Fairview-North Bergen border.
Santos was killed in the crash. Francisco-Garcia suffered from minor injuries. He is facing several charges. Those charges include one count of vehicular homicide, DWI, reckless driving, and failure to maintain lane.
The accident occurred several hours after a curfew that has been set in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Francisco-Garcia is scheduled to make his first court appearance on March 30th.
